Leave No Trace

The mission of the Leave No Trace  program is to promote and inspire responsible outdoor recreation through education, research, and partnerships. Leave No Trace is a set of practical rules to protect wilderness and an educational program to both teach the rules and increase awareness of them. The program is managed by Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics, a nonprofit organization located in Boulder, Colorado. Visit the Leave No Trace website.

Members of PWV also use a technique called "Authority of the Resource." This technique is used with the public when addressing a violation of regulations or Leave No Trace principles. Learn more about Authority of the Resource.
